A company move to the St Louis area put us in a position to look at homes and neighborhoods in MO and IL. We began our search over the Christmas break in 2005 with a move date already in place for 25 January 2006. We asked the company to set us up with a realtor in both states and began our search in MO. We found properties we liked there but not the right neighborhoods. We built a matrix of exactly what we wanted and each house in MO lacked certain features. When we began searching for homes in IL with Linda Shaffer, we found that more of our matrix filled in and her tours of the neighborhood allowed us to day dream about where we would shop, which vet we'd use, where we would bank etc. Linda got to know our needs so well, she could give us advice about where to look based on our criteria for the features of the house and how long the commute to work was going to be. Just a note to let you know how much I appreciate your help in finding, purchasing, and now in some senses maintaining my new home in Glen Carbon. As you are aware, as a lawyer I have a schedule that leaves little time for "house hunting" or bargaining for a better deal. I have no doubt that your assistance in pulling my house deal together was invaluable. I appreciate the way you took a position for me and stuck with it.
